I talk to people in movies, well not to them more like at them. I know, I’m weird. But I talk to them. In the middle of a scene and I know it’s not gonna go well for them or when they wow me or just something, I find myself talking to them. And mostly when I don’t see something coming and it just throws me. I pause and then I just start screaming and cursing and ranting for them putting such a good twist in the story.
This is how I find myself screaming at Beth Boland from this side of my screen telling her No. Stop celebrating, it’s not gonna end well. The shock that will hit you. Aki the rude shock that will hit you when he’s not dead and he shows up at your house……. I laugh.
I am watching Good Girls, season three which as at now has 11 episodes and I love it. I’ve loved Good Girls since it started airing. It follows these three women who are just struggling and they decide by the way, we’ve been poor long enough we’re going to rob a bank- in this case a store. And when they rob it, they find out they’ve bitten off more than they can chew and are now pulled into the crime world. They are used to launder money because the person they stole from, isn’t a really nice guy and now they don’t want to die.
But you know what makes it so interesting, is following Beth and her sister and their friend as they try to navigate this new reality they find themselves in. How it affects their lives, their relationships and how they make it work to end up coming out on top. You can see they are way in over their heads but they still try.
Most interesting is Beth, growing with her and evolving with her and seeing her turn into this more confident, tough, decisive woman who is a boss. All the things you want her to be, but she isn’t. She’s just a mom who needed money and now her life has been turned upside down. That’s what makes it so fun, watching her grow into this crime boss.
